This is going to be quick, just a brief blurb over what I’m going over next: Being Truthful with Ourselves.
It’s easy to look at our lives, to look at the plight of BW and blame everyone else for what is going on. I know, I’m definitely guilty of that. To really expand and let go, we have to take stock of our own lives, of our OWN mistakes, shortcomings, triumphs. And we have to be completely honest with ourselves and be truly willing to deal with ourselves so that we can grow and let go.
This is going to be personal for me but I hope that you all can learn from me and we can all grow together.
I agree. A Black woman can only move forward and be free once she realizes that only she controls and is responsible for her own destiny. Getting caught up in the cycle of blame keeps a person trapped in the same spot.

I’m working on my stuff and pushing on for a better life for me and my son.

Just focusing on self now, albeit at an advanced level of sick and tired of being sick and tired.
Miss V, I’m in the same boat: I look at my daughter and think, “oh crud, I’m her last hope!” I’ve had so many “aha moments” my head is spinning…that, and I’ve been blaming *self* waaaaay too much.

Rainbeaux, I’m done beating myself up, and I’ve learned to accept things and people as they are. It’s made life easier.
